A former U.S. Marine and FBI Special Agent has studied, practiced, and taught various forms of traditional Asian Healing Arts and Martial Arts for over thirty years.
He is an honor graduate (1998) of the Tri-State College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (TSCTCA), New York, NY where he earned an MS in Acupuncture. He is also an honor graduate (2018) of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) where he earned his Doctor of Acupuncture (and Chinese Medicine) (D.Ac.) with an emphasis in Integrative Medicine. He is the president emeritus of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) and has been instrumental in helping to establish the profession and the practice of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) nationally and internationally. The AAAOM was the national professional organization for AOM. Dr. Cyrus serves as a visiting faculty at two OM training institutions. He has appeared in several national publications including Biography and Oprah magazines as well as several television news segments about AOM.
Dr. Cyrus is the 7th successor and lineage holder of the traditional Korean Martial Art, Choson Kwon Bup. He holds mastership ranking in Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Jiu Jutsu. He holds Kyosei Menkyo in the Itto Tenshin Ryu School of Kenjutsu, and studies and teaches Yin Fu Ba Gua Zhang and Chen Tai Ji Chuan.
Dr. Cyrus specializes in the treatment of chronic and acute myofascial pain and dysfunction, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal pain. He also treats a variety of internal disorders. He is the founder of “Oriental Medicine–Physical Medicine (OM-PM)”. OM-PM is an integrative system of medicine combining the best of classical OM and Western Medicine (Physical and Orthopedic approaches) to arrive at a holistic and integrated method of treatment.
